Tailoring Program

Bebea e.V. offers a tailoring training course to economically vulnerable women to empower them with employable and self-employment skills. The objective is to help them achieve financial independence and break general poverty in their families, and contribute to the community's economic wellbeing. Studies indicate that women experience disproportionately high rates and impacts of poverty in Siaya. Moreover, poverty is likely to affect female-headed households than male-headed househols. With the high rate of unplanned pregnancies, separation, divorce and abandonment, women bear the greatest burden of child-caring, education, and other areas of development. These advantages occur amidst the lack of employable skills. Therefore, Bebea e.V's tailoring program is an intervention to empower such women.
