Our History
The Bebea e.V Community Organisation (CBO) emerged from a deeply personal desire to uplift and empower young girls and women facing financial vulnerability in Siaya, Kenya. Having experienced poverty at a personal level, the organization's founder understood the negative advantages it causes and began to provide random out-of-pocket support to young vulnerable women in Siaya, Kenya. However, it soon became apparent that out-of-pocket support was unsustainable and there was a need for collaboration with various stakeholders to empower women and young girls in the region.
This realization led to the conceptualization of Bebea e.V CBO, which was officially registered in Kenya in 2021. The organization's core mission is to equip young financially vulnerable women with tailoring skills, to enhance their employability and enable them to pursue self-employment opportunities. Bebea e.V CBO oversees the organization and implementation of empowerment projects targeting women, young girls, and children in general in Siaya, Kenya. Additionally, it implements health projects and welfare projects that benefit the community and elderly people. In 2022, Bebea e.V CBO established an administrative branch in Germany to plan and control such projects. This expansion strengthens the organization's capacity to support its Kenyan initiatives while adhering to rigorous standards of governance and accountability.
